Video: French Polynesia – Rangiroa blue lagoon

Blue Lagoon Rangiroa, French Polynesia.

Avatoru Pass is famous for its variety of sharks with extremely high chance of encountering the large “wallpaper” (silvertip shark – carcharhinus albimarginatus). This shark species normally lives in much deeper regions but is often encountered here at normal diving depths up to a maximum of 25m. A fantastic opportunity not to be missed! Most of the time you will also encounter huge schools of mackerel (Horse Eye Jacks), which are often split by passing grey sharks or napoleon breeds. At the end of this unique dive you may encounter manta rays on their way into the lagoon.
