Video: Gran Canaria – El Cabron
El Cabron on Gran Canaria with Puerto Rico Diving. You will see stingray, nudibranch, seahorse, parrotfish, octopus,
A 50-minute drive from Puerto de Mogán takes us to the underwater nature reserve “Reserva Marina Arinaga”, more often called “El Cabron”. The last part of the drive is on a bumpy road, and many dive centers don’t want to go there because their cars might get damaged. But we think the drive is worth it and visit one of the best dive sites of Gran Canaria with our divers there.
El Cabrón is one of only three marine protected areas in the Canary Islands classified by the European Union as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Eight different dives are possible in this area. There are four entry points, each with two different dives. Each dive surprises with volcanic bottom formation, there are many caverns, swimming hollows, holes, caves, depressions, and arches. Boat traffic and commercial fishing are not allowed in the marine reserve.
